亦称“赑屃”【bixi】、霸下，是中国古籍中记载的一种瑞兽，相传为“龙生九子之一，头是龙，身为龟，为纯阳之神兽，能安心、辟邪、制煞、化冲、解厄、镇宅、招财、聚财，是权力和长寿的象征。龙龟一说由四方瑞兽中的“玄武’演化而来，也有说由图腾直接结合而来，它是以龟图腾为主，龙图腾为辅的一个复合衍生族徽，是一个远古氏族的象征。
